Feel Better 4x4 Card

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to share with you a card I made and and a box to match for my bff's daughter. She recently had surgery (not major!) and we went to visit her later that night.

I used my Cameo for this project and love how quickly it all came together.

My friends daughter is not girly so it was nice to use up some of my blue's and green's. I cant remember where the patterned paper is from but I believe it's by Recollections.

For the card I used the file happy_donut_C01260_20508 and it is one of my favorites! So super cute. I added a Peachy Keen Face to him (I forgot to white his eyes lol) and stickled the sprinkles. For the sentiment I used a stamp from Scrappy Mom's. I added some green twine and a button from Papertrey Ink. I love the way it turned out!

For the box, I used a file created by Lori Whitlock called bracket_flap_box_C01247_20509. I love this box! I didnt even have to score any lines I just folded and glued and voila. So easy. Love that it is so easy with the Cameo! I punched two holes in the front and added twine to close it shut. The sentiment is from Pink By Design and we filled the box with Mexican chocolate. Something she has been asking for!

Birthday Wishes!

Hey Everyone :).

Well, for my family the season of birthdays are back in full swing. My daughter was one of five babies to be born within six months of each other. She was also the first girl! Im glad it was me who changed it up a little bit because I couldnt imagine her any different.

Anyway, we are on second year and today are celebrating baby #2's birthday. I busted out my Cameo and created this adorable 4x4 card. Im liking these 4x4's, so much easier for when they're being given to a child. I have two more to share with you as well so be sure to check back for those.

I really like this card, definitely boyish. I used a lot of scraps too which is great because my box is getting harder to close.

The car is a cut-it from Lettering Delight's "Sew Boy Stitchy." How adorable! I used a sentiment from Scrappy Mom's Stamps and the number 2 is from the Silhouette store: ornate_numbers_C00611_20387. To make it stand out a little more I offset it and layered it with white. Super simple but perfect for a two year old.

Cameo Creations Challenge 1

Hey Everyone!

I managed to sneak in a challenge for the first time in a long time! My blog has been quiet but I have managed to create several layouts for my daughters first year album. At last count I had 24 to go! LOL. She'll only be two in May, better late than never.

There is a new challenge hosted by Monica from Monica's Creative Madness called Cameo Creations. It is for people who have fallen in love with their new Silhouette Cameo! I am excited about this challenge because there are not a lot centered around the Cameo.

This week's theme is to create a Valentines Day theme twisted easel card using the colors red, pink, and turquoise. I don't have turquoise so I used the "brightest" blue in my stash. I think it's time to go paper shopping again ;).

For my card, I kept the blue to a minimum because again it's not a true turquoise. The file I used is: 2_cute_love_birds_with_heart_C00001_21585 2/26/2010. I made the center heart a little larger and cut it out as one piece. Also, I seperated the birds a little so they are not on top of the heart. Of course, the blue winged bird is a boy and the pink winged bird is a girl. :). I used a sentiment from Scrappy Mom's Stamps, "Love Notes" that says "My Heart Belongs to You." I was going to add more to the sentiment part of the card but figured it's the perfect amount of space for someone to write their message. I also did some stitching with my gel pen and added some light pink bling. Super cute!

If you would like to participate, make sure you check out Monica's Blog. The challenges are bi-weekly so there is plenty of time. :)

12x12 non-die cut machine layout!

Hey again :)

I feel like Im on a roll posting three times this week! Hopefully I can manage to create some cards to change it up for you all a little bit :).

I love this layout and I am happy that I used my stash instead of just relying on my Cricut or Silhouette. Well, to be honest, I made this layout before I even knew what a Silhouette Cameo was LOL. These photos were taken of my daughter at the mall. She was in one of those car buggy's that keep kids entertained while the momma's shop ;). Just like at the grocery store!

All of the patterned paper is from Recollections, the "punched" border is actually a sticker from Echo Park, I forget which line it was though. The flowers I have had forever and they are Prima. I bought the brad in a pack from Studio G which I picked up from Wal-Mart. Woo Hoo for $.97 embellishments! The twine is from an etsy shop called Bella Creationz and the stickers are from the Playground stack by Echo Park. I used another Ki Memories Puffy sticker and buttons from papertrey ink.

Super cute huh?!

If I am not able to create anything tonight I hope you all enjoy your weekend and have a wonderful New Year's Eve/Day. Be safe!

Another Silhouette 12x12 layout

Hey Everyone!

Two more days and we will be saying goodbye to 2011. Can you believe it? What are some of your scrappy resolutions? I would like to get my albums updated, not done, updated. It'd be impossible and very unlikely for me to assume I would get completely caught up! LOL.

Anyway, I am back with another Silhouette layout.

I didnt glue the grass completely down because I still need to add the photos. That is why the grass looks funky :). I cut the grass, sun, tags and title from my Silhouette. Look how tiny those title letters are (that i forgot to weld). Never would my Cricut have cut them so crisp and clean!

I also added a puffie sticker, the butterfly, that I bought when they were on clearance. The Twine is from an Etsy shop named Bella Creationz. Super cute kraft twine!

I will be back tomorrow with a non die cut layout that came out super adorable!

Thanks for visiting :)

My First Cameo Project!!

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a great holiday and are ready to ring in the New Year! I am especially since I am 33 weeks pregnant and that means Im one month closer to meeting my second daughter :).

For Christmas my hubby bought me the Silhouette Cameo and I love love love it. I still have my Cricut and will use it (I like my cartridges still too lol) but right now I am having fun learning this new awesome machine.

I made a 12x12 layout for my daughter's first year album. I am finally starting her 10 month layouts lol. Hopefully I can get them done before the new baby arrives.

Sorry about the quality of the photo, I am still trying to find the best lighting to take these and well... I need a better camera anyway :).

The title, tag, banner, teapot and teacups were all cut with my cameo. I am amazed about how accurate the cuts are and how I don't get little fuzzies when I lift them up off the cutting mat. I roughed up the green mat a little and stamped PK faces to my cuts. I kind of feel like it's missing something but for now I'll leave it alone :).

Hope you enjoy and thanks for visiting!
Supplies:
12x12 Kraft cardstock by Recollections
Patterned paper, Recollections
Cuts: Teacups and Teapot are from Echo Park in the Silhouette store, the banner and tag are apart of the free 50 you receive, the title is a font off of my computer.

Mini Ornament Magnets

Hey Everyone!

I am so excited that next week is Thanksgiving. I have all of my recipes prepared (as in figured out lol) but I still need to grab a few things from the grocery. Are you hosting this year? Last year was my first and it was a success! Im hoping for a repeat this year since this is the first holiday in our new home :).

Today I am sharing with you mini ornament magnets. I made these for a swap I am in over at 2 Peas. I don't think any of those ladies are a follower (I just joined when they released the app) so i felt it was safe to share with you!

This is not my original idea, I found it here.

It is super simple and cheap to make. First, I went to Wal-Mart and got two packages of mini ornaments. One in hot pink, the other silver.
Then I attached circle magnets with hot glue. The circle magnets don't sit perfectly on the ornaments but since it will be used on a fridge or in a craft room, I didnt mind. You cant really tell when they are in use!
I went back and forth on how I should package these and I really didnt want to order anything online. I finally settled on snack size sandwich bags which fit these perfectly.

To me, that's pretty ugly to give as a gift lol! To dress it up I took a white piece of cardstock and used it as my topper by stapling it to the bag. To hide the staples I took a hot pink strip, stamped "Merry Christmas" using Scrappy Mom's Stamps "Winter Wishes" and glued it on top. I then added hot pink tulle, and cut an ornament shape from Winter Frolic.

It's not much, but looks a lot better than a plain baggy!
I had to make 12 of these (a 12 days of Christmas themed swap) and I hope they like them. I have some on my fridge for the holidays as well :).
