New Years Thank You Card Blog Hop

Happy New Year's Eve Everyone!!!!

Do you like that color I picked? It was the closest to champagne lol. It'd be so cool to have all of our crafty faves together for this night or any night of the year for that matter! Since we cant, how about a blog hop instead?! You should have arrived from Shawn's blog if not, please click here to start from the beginning. There is a whopping 35 blogs on this hop so you will not want to miss all of the inspiration in store! Luckily, this hop lasts all weekend so if you don't have time to hop now, do so while you nurse those hangovers *gasp*! haha :). I will have the links posted at the end for your reference incase you get lost a long the way.

We were asked to make a thank you card for this blog hop and I think that is a perfect way to end the current year! There was so much that happened that I am thankful for and it is always great to have one of these cards handy. Can you believe that my next post will be next year!? haha. It's still crazy to me to think of it like that, but hey... every year Im stunned by how fast it goes!
Ok, enough blabber, here is my card! I took this photo with my new camera to try it out but it's a little darker than what my other camera produces. So sorry for the semi-bad quality!

I love making scene cards. I think they are so fun! The card base is Kraft Cardstock from Papertrey Ink and I layered a frame from Storybook. The patterned paper, mat and the frame is from DCWV Garden Party. I used Create A Critter for the clouds and the sun. The flowers are from Sugar & Spice which I embossed in my Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots and D'Vine Swirl. The grass, Plantin School and the butterfly is from Storybook as well. The sentiment "Gracias {Thank You in Spanish}" is from a Fiskars stamp set.

Now on to the giveaway! Theresa, The {Awesome} Scrapbooking Queen has generously donated a Pink Ribbon Xyron Sticker Maker:
How sweet is she to offer that! I will choose the winner on Monday January 3rd! All you have to do is leave me a comment with your New Year's Resolution and if you'd like {it's not necessary} become a follower. :)

I hope you enjoyed my card!  Your next stop on the hop is:

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Years Eve!

Um, Halloween?

Hey Everyone!

So here I am, procrastinating again. I didnt finish my pregnancy scrapbook or get caught up on my daughters first year album. Which is why this will be my crafting resolution! My daughter turns one on May 5th and I WILL have her book caught up and my pregnancy one complete before then. I say this now, lol. Hopefully you all don't get tired of layouts! Im looking to post one or two a week but we'll see.

Yesterday I went over to a friends house and we managed to get some scrapbooking done. How? Im not sure, but Im not going to jinx it by questioning things haha. I have had this layout sitting in my Gypsy since October so it was one that I needed to complete right away.

If you are a new follower, I love using my wallet size photos in layouts. It lets me get multiple photos on one {or two} pages without things looking cluttered. Plus, I cant help but love every photo my daugher takes {with the exception of the blurry ones, the looking away's etc...} so I am getting backed up with wallet size photos. Also, I don't do many 2 page layouts because, well... I don't like them. They are overwhelming to me and I always feel like it's to much of a process. So these, and this one, is rare around here!

I used the K & Co "Spook tacular" paper pack for all but the base {recollections, black}. I used Celebrate With Flourish, Paper Doll Dress Up, Storybook and, October 31st {unsure on that one}. The extra diecuts like the candy, owl and ghost were from the matching diecut sets. My friend had these in her stash so she let me use them. How perfect did that come out!

Then, I just journaled on the tree trunk and called it finished. I like it! It's really cute and Halloweeny without being spooky! We'll save those layouts for when she is older.

First Birthday Card

Hey Everyone!
I have three cousins turning one in January! Yea, we all were pretty amazed too. We had five babies born within 6 months of each other. The newest on November 9th. The funniest part is the three that is turning one in January are all boys lol. So the first three weekends in January, IM BOOKED! :) I made this card for whichever one is first (I've already lost track haha) and I kept it blue toned. I used my new Birthday Bash and scraps from my stash. Kraft cardstock from Papertrey Ink, and the PP is from DCWV Garden Party.

Im a little confused on the layering for the ball on the seals nose. It doesnt look to me like it should? It could be just my perfectionism with things I make to give away! Also, the stamp is from MPS Family & Friends.

Thanks for Visiting! Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the New Years Thank You Card Blog Hop!

My 8 Months of Blogging {A little Photo Heavy}

Hey Everyone!

First I wanted to thank everyone who wished me a Merry Christmas! Mine was great, I received some storage and my most favorite gift is my new Sony Cybershot camera! I love love love love it! I hope yours was great as well! I cant wait to hear about what you have received and what you create.

This year sure has come and gone. I am so happy to have started this blog {and kept up with it!} because I have met some pretty awesome people and have enjoyed all of the inspiration from your blogs! I thought that since the year is coming to a close, I would reflect on my 8 months of blogging!

When I started this blog {April 13th} I had just bought a baby bug to scrapbook my pregnancy. I only owned two cartridges, New Arrival and George & Basic Shapes. I found My Pink Stamper through Youtube and my first project posts were for National Scrapbook Day! WOW. It's amazing how far I have come in my crafting. It's embarassing looking at what I submitted {that I was so proud of} but hey, we all start somewhere! I thought I would show you the best of the worst lol:

My Very First Card!

That was rough haha. The ironic part about the Cinco De Mayo layout is that it was exactly a year before I would have my first baby. Who would have thought!

Also, my very first challenge was also Emma's {My Creative Time} very first Throwback Thursday!

Can you tell I was starting to layer? LOL.

I am always learning and would never consider myself to be a "professional" card maker or scrapbooker. I craft because I love this hobby, I don't need to take it so seriously!

So here are a few of my favorite things I've made this past 8 months:

I am looking forward to what 2011 will bring and I cant wait to share it with you all!

Also, I am in a blog hop this weekend called the Thank You Card Blog Hop hosted by Crafty Card Gallery. I have received the lineup and there is more than 30 blogs participating! It's going to be a big one but a great way to start of the new year! I hope you will join us :).

Tonight I am looking forward to a yummy ham dinner and quality time with my family! From mine to yours, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I will be back soon with crafty projects :).

Flaunt It Fridays #4

Hey Everyone!

AACK I am so sorry this post is up late. I totally forgot until I checked my blog feed. WOW. Is Christmas over yet so I can get my brain back to normal? LOL.

Anyway, I wanted to thank Momo and Paula for asking me to be in the Christmas Cheer Blog Hop, I have received 60 new friends and I am so happy to see you all here! I hope my projects live up to your expectations. :)

It's Christmas Eve but also it's Friday which means it's time for another challenge over at Flaunt it Fridays! This week we were challenged to create a project using the turtle from Create A Critter. I love this cartridge, it's so cute and the phrases are perfect for scrapbook layouts!
I changed it up just a little and made a mini doodlepad. I like how it turned out but I need to invest in a heavy duty whole puncher! Im also looking at getting the Cinch, I have a Bind It All but I don't always want six holes to punch!

I used an alphabet brad for my neice (it's for her) and I think she will find use of it.

If you would like to join in on the fun, please visit Flaunt It Fridays to link your project. :)

Christmas Cheer Blog Hop!

Hey Everyone!

It's time for another blog hop! If you are arriving from Momo's blog you are in the right spot. If you just happened along please visit Paula to start from the beginning!
This hop is all about Christmas! I still cant believe Christmas is only two days away. I feel like Im still complaining about being pregnant (I had a rough one!) and counting down the days until my due date. Before I know it, May 5th will arrive and my daughter will be one. WOW! Having children makes you cherish the moments much more.

I absolutely love the card I made for this hop. I almost didnt want to give it away lol. I welded two tags from Winter Frolic for the card base and used Jolly Holidays for the girl. The heart ornament is actually a sticker and I stickled the hangy part to make it stand out more. Does anyone have trouble with the layers on this cartridge? I always feel like I left the real dial size on when I go to put things together. It turns out but after a little tweaking. :) I also used a Peachy Keen stamp {Everyday Faces}.

Also, I wanted to brag a little about the deal I got {Im so mean haha}. I managed to get Birthday Bash and Simply Charmed for $19.99 each at Michaels. The ad was supposedly misprinted but I argued my case and managed to walk out a happy camper. The lady sure wasnt happy but hey... :)

Im sorry, for this blog hop I do not have a prize. :( I am going to be having a follower giveaway though for reaching 200 so I think that is worth the wait! :) I'll give you more info when the time comes but for now, I would still love new followers!

Your next stop on this blog hop is Cristina! Make sure you visit all of the blogs along the way for some great inspiration.

Here is the lineup in case you get lost:

Design Team Day! {Inking It Up Crazy}

Hey Everyone!

I hope you are having a fabulous week so far! I am hopefully finishing up my Christmas shopping today so I don't have to worry about it anymore LOL! I always start my shopping in August and never seem to finish it until the week of. Never fails haha.

Today is also another design team day for Inking It Up Crazy. We were asked to make something Christmas related and personally, being burnt out on Christmas (hey, not so bad after lasting 21 days lol) I kept it simple. Im also trying to use up my scraps so all of the patterened paper I found in my bin.

One last thing, don't forget to join us on December 23rd for a last minute blog hop hosted by Paula {More Than Favors} and Momo! It is going to be so much fun, there is a great line up and I made the cutest card. :)

Winner and a Card!

Hey Everyone!

Over the Thanksgiving break my nephews and neices spent some time with us and we did nothing but watch kid movies. One of those was Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs! That movie is so cute. In one scene someone wanted ice cream and this was after the machine started making everything jumbo size. That is where this card idea came from. As soon as I saw the scoops of ice cream on all of the houses my mind went racing!

The card measures 5x7 and I used Sweet Treats for the scoops of ice cream and the houses are from Create A Critter. I cuttlebugged the scoops using D'Vine Swirls and added stickles to it. The base of the card is from Papertrey Ink and the glittered paper is from DCWV Glitter Stack. The ribbon I got from Michaels and the sentiment is MPS Family & Friends. I thought dream was the appropriate sentiment because in the movie the guy had a dream and even though it backfired it still came true!

Ok, and I know I was supposed to be on hiatus this week but there are some projects I need to finish and lets face it, I just love looking for inspiration! Also, I forgot to mention the deadline for the Irock (midnight last night) so I took all of the comments and visited random.org. There was one double comment so in total I had 73 comments.

The winner of the i-rock is:

reneeleeak!!!!

Congratulations! I will be emailing you shortly and sending your prize ASAP!

Homemade Christmas Blog Hop!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to the Homemade Christmas Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Scrappy Mel but if you just stumbled upon my blog then head over to Crafting With Cristina and start from the beginning! There is a bunch of great projects you won't want to miss out on!

Now, lets be honest, I KNOW im not the only one out there who still hasnt finished Christmas shoppin. With Christmas quickly approaching there is still time to make something as a gift instead of running out into the rush of crazed shoppers. That's why Im loving this hop, you will find so much inspiration and great ideas so make sure you hop through the whole list.

I originally had two projects I wanted to share with you but the second one isnt quite finished yet! I will share that with you soon. :)

For my project I made chocolate covered pretzel sticks and altered a formula can to stick them in. This is super simple and very yummy!

I had a tough time trying to figure out how to decorate this. I used a tree cut from Winter Frolic and punched a circle for the sentiment. It's from Scrappy Moms Stamp set "Winter Wishes." I tied the sentiment on with some hemp cord and voila! The project is done. :) Oh, the packaging for the pretzels are from Wilton and I tied the ends with red ribbon.

Now, onto the blog candy! You do not have to be a follower (although I'd love it if you were) but you do have to leave a comment. Just tell me what your New Years plans are! I will pick the winner and get your prize out to you after Christmas. Im sorry, I just feel it's better to wait instead of it possibly getting lost! Also, this giveaway is limited (for now) to US residents.

Your next stop on the hop is the super talented Dorcas!

Don't forget to leave a comment! Also, here is the blog list in case you get lost along the way. :)

Christmas Pj's layout

Hey Everyone!
So I've had a little "me" time these last couple of hours and thought I'd get a layout or two finished. I only managed to get one though because I am out of ATG tape! I don't like Quick Dry glue because no matter how little I put on it always warps my paper and pictures.

One tradition I want to start with my family around Christmas is wearing festive Pj's Christmas morning! We plan on taking a photo of us cuddled up by the tree and this is what the layout is for.

The one time I get a few hours to myself and I have no tape! LOL never fails. :)

Supplies:
Base: Colorbok
Scalloped Circle: Minds Eye Winter Wonderland
Ribbon: Big Lots
Cartridges: Winter Frolic, Sugar & Spice, Cherry Limeade

MPS: 12 Days of Christmas {Color Challenge}

Hey all!

This is my second post for the day, please scroll down to see my vinyl wall art!

I made this card for My Pink Stamper's Christmas color challenge. I havent done a challenge in a few weeks {Even lost my streak with Crafting with Cristina!} so I am starting up again. :)

The challenge is to create something using two shades of bluel, two shades of pink and black. This is what I came up with. Super simple!

The sentiment is from Pink by Design "Girls just wanna have fun"

Precious Vinyl Art

Hey Everyone!

I cant believe Christmas is right around the corner! To be honest It hasnt really felt "Christmasy" this year. Not sure whyy.
I have decided to go on hiatus from Blogger and my Cricut next week! I will "return" to see what everyone was up to while I was at a halt. I spend a lot of time on the computer and I need it to enjoy with my family. I am NOT taking a break from my Gypsy though :) or Facebook! LOL. No worries though, I have some projects i might share!
Even though we live in a small apartment I am trying my best to make my daughters room her own. We currently have half of the room filled with our desk and "office" stuff and the other half is hers. So, I have had my vinyl sitting around and decided to put it to use. I love the color combo of pink and brown. My baby shower was pink and brown, her announcement was pink and brown and even her nursery is pink and brown lol. So, although I used more of a hot pink than a softer pink I like the way this turned out!

It looks black but its really a chocolate brown! Here is another photo,

Isnt it cute!? I didnt want it so big (after realizing I didnt have enough for a 12x24 mat lol) but I think it works! I used a phrase off of Once Upon A Princess and that was it! Oh, and that Piggy Paint Nail Polish is amazing for little ones! It is all natural and has no chemicals in it like the kind of polish we use. I painted my daughters toes up until she started putting them in her mouth and she never had any problem. Here is the link to Piggy Paint if you are interested:

Whip Up Some Fun!

Hey Everyone!

Hmmm... I cant remember if I have shared this card before or not. I cant find it in my previous posts so if I have then sorry! :)

I made this a couple of weeks ago when I wanted to use my stash that has been sitting around. The sentiment, patterened paper and the cut are all from things I havent used! I am trying to use up what I already have so I have an excuse to go buy more haha.

When I was figuring out what to make I went through my stamp sets and found this sentiment by Scrappy Moms. Its from their set, "A Pinch and A Dash" and I immediately thought of cotton candy. Then I remembered I have a cotton candy cut on my Carousel cartridge. I thought the two went well together because you pretty much have to whip your hand around to catch the candy and well... cotton candy is pretty fun in my book!

Again, I know the quality of the photo isnt the best. The camera I use for my cards and is dying :(.

I wanted it to be really pink and the mat from DCWV Glitter stack and the polka dot ribbon fit perfectly. I like how this turned out. :)

Also, I want to announce that I am apart of Cristina from Crafting With Cristina's Design Team! I am so excited and I cant wait for the first project

I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Santa DONT Stop Here! .... Flaunt It Friday's #2 :)

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous week and cant I get a HOORAY for Friday!? What are your plans this weekend? My plans are postponed because we are supposed to get rain/snow and then snow all day on Sunday so we are waiting for next weekend to go to the Festival of Lights. I cant believe how close it is to Christmas! Im not even half way done with my shopping but Im sure Im not the only one lol.

Anyway, Today is the second challenge over at Flaunt It Fridays! This week's we ask that you use the sleigh from Paper Doll Dress Up or if you don't have this cartridge use a similiar cut. All of the design team will be showing you inspiration so make sure to check out Flaunt it Fridays and leave some bloggy love on their blogs!

For my project, I decided to do another 12x12 layout for my daughters scrapbook. I had the goal of completing my pregnancy album and getting "caught up" on her scrapbook but it just hasnt worked out! I am making progress and that's all that matters.

Ok so here is the story behind the layout, my daughter is 7 months old and we took her to see Santa last month and she was ... ok.. until he started to talk to her. She didnt know what to think but knew she didnt like him and started crying. So, last week, I went to pick her up from my friends house after I got out of class and she said, "Aliahna is terrified of Santa." Im like no way! They have one of those fake dancing Santa's and I took her over by it and she paused, then cried her eyes out. It was hilarious! So I, being the loving mother that I am, decided I needed a picture to scrapbook. Don't judge me, lol. I am sure I am not the only mother who has done this! :) not only did I get two pictures but we also got a video of it. Haha. My hubby is not too thrilled (even though I know he thinks its funny too) but that's just protective daddy mode kicking in!

Lol. I'll never forget that day and now she wont either. I hope you like! Also, don't forget to visit Flaunt it Fridays for the other design team's inspiration!

I tried making the word don't stand out more but this was all I had ;)
Im sure if you are a fan on my Facebook page you already saw this photo :).

Merry Christmas Card

Hey Everyone!

Can you believe my family is still sick? It's been a week and it's driving me nuts. Gone are the days where I am only sick for three days tops! Having a sick child it gets passed around twice lol. We have not been wanting to do anything and I am hoping we all feel better for our holiday pictures on Saturday and a trip to the Zoo! The Cincinnati Zoo puts on the festival of lights every holiday season so we are not going to just look at the animals hahaha. To cold for all that!

Anyway, I have decided to make my holiday cards (yes I know I am on a crunch!) so here is the first one. I used the branch with a bird house from Winter frolic but cut the bird house off and used an ornament instead. I think it turned out cute!

This was the first time I used red and green in my Christmas card!

Also, please check back on Friday as the design team from Flaunt It Fridays will show you inspiration for the new cut challenge! I got mine finished last night and I think it's hilarious. My hubby, not so much. I'll tell you more about that one on Friday!

Thanks for visiting!

The design team will be showing two projects on this hop. The first will be this weeks challenge, and the second will be extra inspiration. We have used Winter Frolic for both so you will definately be getting inspiration! Make sure to leave a comment on every stop along the way and a second comment over at Flaunt It Fridays telling us you did in order to win the grand prize sponsored by Peachy Keen Stamps.

Are we ready??

This week's challenge is to create a project using the snowman on page 29 of Winter Frolic. This can be a card, layout, gift.. anything. You have until December 9th, 11:59PST to link your project over at Flaunt It Fridays.

Here is my project using this cut:

I bought an 8x10 frame from Wal-Mart and made a mat to fit a 5x7 photo. All of the patterened paper used is from my scraps ( I am bad at having huge scrap pieces) and the red is my new favorite: Pure Poppy from Papertrey Ink. I love this color red! It is so vibrant! The snowman is this week's challenge and I stamped his face using Peachy Keen Stamps "Snow Cuties" set. The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms "Winter Wishes." The ribbon is from Wal-Mart. :)

Here is my 2nd project:

This card base has been sitting on my craft desk for about a week! I havent felt inspired enough to craft and then a cold hit my family and tonight, at 11:15pm I managed to get back into the groove and complete this card. It is a 5x7 card and I used my favorite Christmas paper stack right now by My Minds Eye. I didn't cut out all of the "ornaments" that belonged to the tree because, well... they are tiny and I don't have the patience lol. So what I did was took rhinestones and used those. I also placed one on the birds beak to make it look like she's trimming the tree. That matched the sentiment by (SURPRISE!) Scrappy Mom's "Winter Wishes." The ribbon is from Big Lots. I also used stickles on the light pink in the bird and on the star.

Before I send you on your way I am giving away some blog candy! I love my pink ATG gun and I know there are still a few people out there who havent got one yet. Well, now here is your chance!

All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me that one gift you always asked for every Christmas but never got. Mine is probably a computer, which is a good thing because I am a computer junky LOL. You do not have to be a follower but I would love it if you were. :) Also, leave me a way to get in contact with you!

Im sorry but this is only for US residents at this time. :(
