April Fools Day Blog Hop!

----If you are looking for my Flaunt It Friday's post click here---
Hey Everyone!

Welcome to the April Fools Day Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Cristina's blog which is also the beginning. If you just happened by my blog make sure you visit her so you don't miss any goodies or inspiration. I will have the line-up listed at the end of this post if you get lost along the way.

Cristina asked us to create a project around the April Fool's Day theme. This was a super challenging theme for me but I finally figured out what to do and I think it came out great.

For my project, I altered a pop top can that I filled with Reese Cup Eggs (THE BEST REESE CUP VERSION OUT THERE BTW!) and I plan on giving them to my brothers for Easter. They are 12 and 9 so this is the perfect "prank."

I left the top blank because I havent found a good circle cutter. I have one that is made by Martha Stewart, I believe her older one. It's a circle shape not the longer shape but it doesnt work to my liking (to be nice). Do you have one that you'd recommend?

Supplies:
Pop Tab Can (chef boyardee has these type of cans and so does campbells soup)
Paper is from my stash
The Dino and tree is from Create A Critter but I received these in a swap so the extra detail is from someone else :)
World's Best Kid Sentiment: Kids Inc. By Scrappy Moms Stamps

I hope you liked my project! Your next stop is Ivette.

However before you go here is my blog candy:

A $20 gift card to Michaels!

Just leave me a comment telling me the best prank you've ever witnessed/experienced/performed/found. :) Simple! I will announce the winner on Monday.
Don't forget to visit ALL of the blogs in the hop for inspiration and blog candy.

  1. I love this idea, Amanda. I have actually used the pop top cans myself. It's fun.

When my kids were younger they decided they wanted to prank my husband. So when he asked for a glass of water the kids decided to salt it really good before giving it to him. You can imagine the look on his face!

  5. I am not that good at pranks. We pranked my nieces and nephew at Christmas by telling them we needed our Lego Star Wars game back and then surprising them with their own for Christmas.

  6. How did you get the candy into the can an it looked unopened?? One best prank I saw was to tie a rolling chair to a desk so it would not pull out.

  8. What a cute can. I love it.

for a prank. I once put salt in my friends mountain dew. I told her it was sugar and it made it taste better. But it makes it flat and salty. She spit it all over her kitchen. :)

  10. What an adorable little just because treat for a child. My uncles once took a picture of one of the brothers' boat and placed an ad in the paper for sale at a really cheap price and included his phone number.

  12. Very cute idea!! Perfect for the younger set. I have the creative memories cutting set with most of the plastic templets. I use it more than my ciricut for circles because I can see the sizes and what it will cover before I cut.

  13. I want to know more! I assume you just use a can opener on the bottom to empty out the contents but how do you seal the bottom back up? I love this idea! My best prank involved a lot of string & my mom with her hair up in curlers.

  15. Such a great idea! I'm not a prankster. But a few years back (on April fools) I posted on my facebook page that someone just rear ended me while I was driving my hubby's new car to an appointment. Once he saw that post... he went ballistic!

  20. A really good prank that I witnessed was telling a principal that the superintendent of schools wanted her to come down for a discussion. Her expression was priceless. It was so good because she was pranking everyone else that day and never suspected a thing. Your project is so cool. Thanks for sharing and the opportunity to win.

I don't do pranks because usually the guys that work with my husband will do a bunch of pranks and by the end of the day he is watching for the pranks.

  26. Cute project and what a fun surprising prank for your brothers! Thanks for sharing.

I'm not much of a prankster but my kids like to think they are. The Friday before spring break my daughter came home from school with a very sad look on her face and told me she had homework over spring break. I thought for sure she was joking but she looked straight at me and said she was serious. Then she proceeded to pull out all these papers from her backpack to show me. I looked at the papers and saw they were graded assignments. Then she said "gotcha!" She almost had me fooled. :)

  30. LOVE IT!! how cute. The best prank I ever did was have a complete meltdown (minus the throwing myself on floor) at work.... and said everything and anything about quitting and couldn't handle it anymore (I worked at walmart). needless to say it had my asst mgr totally going and a few others as well. a few friends were in on it and so played along.... till they all got me in the room to talk me out of it... needless to say after i was done... i didn't do that again the following year! LOL

My favorite prank was finding out I was pregnant with our third child on March 27th and waiting till April Fools to tell my hubby. Of course he thought I was joking him which was kind of the point, he went all day thinking it was just a joke until he got home and saw the test. It was funny!

  33. My favorite prank, and it wasnt on me....thank goodness was when I went up to my husbands work and they were cleaning out the fridge, it was waaayyy empty and my hubby thought it would be funny to to see if he fit in it. He did and then his devious wheels started turning...He is a career firefighter so they are ALWAYS pranking eachother. He decided he would hide in the fridge and wait for the next person to open it and jump out at him and hit him with a piece of cheese....dont ask about the cheese not even I know, I think it was an inside joke between the guys. So he got all tucked in and then poor Larry walks up to the fridge and opens it and out pops crazy Mike and slaps him in the face with a piece of cheese (not hard of course) Larry screamed so loud and it was soooo funny, as long as it NEVER happens to me. If you love good pranks man do I live with a master lol

  38. Love your prank can! I don't do a lot of pranks but my hubby loves to do them at work. Whenever someone is out of the office for a while, say on vacation, he usually messes with their desk. The one time they wrapped everything in one of his employee's desk in aluminum foil -- I mean everything. Could you imagion coming in to that. lol. Thanks for the blog hop and a chance to win. 39. I absolutely LOVE the can and it sparked some ideas in my head.

I am a prankster (both a leader and follower). . . but I think the one prank that always stood out for me was convincing a coworker that we had acquired "hold music" by telling her she was on hold, and then putting the receiver up to a very quiet radio. I could hear her down the hall shouting out, "Oh my gosh, we have hold music! We have hold music!" Tee hee!

So far I've gotten him once, he just got out of the shower and I hid in his side of the closet (because I knew he had to go in there for his clothes)with a balloon and safety pin in hand and as soon as he opened it I jumped up and popped the balloon in his face.He jumped back and tripped over an ottoman in our room and fell! Gosh, the look on his face was priceless. I wish I Video taped the whole thing. LOL!! Come to think of it that's the only time I got him as as successful as I did..

  50. This is adorable! Love the can idea!

The best prank was one my hubby pulled on the day he proposed. He actually took me ring shopping! I'm trying on rings and he's pretending to be getting ideas for rings. On the way out he puts his arms around me and says "someday." A few hours later he pulled out a ring and proposed! He's had the ring the whole time! A little evil perhaps, but a funny story! At least I can say I was definitely surprised when he proposed! :)
