Terrific Tuesday Challenge

Hey Everyone!
--------For the Crafting With Cristina Companion Challenge please scroll down!-------

So, I did something I havent done in a long time and that's join in on a challenge! The theme for the Tuesday Challenge this week is to use the cartridge Paisley. I love Paisley but I must admit, I don't use it as often anymore. Once the newness wears off Im on to bigger and better cartridges. Poor Paisley.

Anyway, I created this card and Im not sure what it's missing, Im thinking I should have rotated it to make the rainboots not look so small. :) Still cute though!

Really really cute. :).

Supplies:
Base: Recollections Craft Cardstock
Mat: Not sure, it was from a swap but it's rain themed.
Glitter Mats: DCWV
Ribbon: American Crafts
White Hemp Cord from Michaels
White Gel Pen
PKS

Sketch Challenge @ Crafting With Cristina

Hey Everyone!

This week at Crafting With Cristina it is Ivettes challenge and she asked us to make a Mother's Day card using the following sketch:

So simple huh? I wanted to do something a little different and made a card that would fit in a legal size envelope. I took the sketch and rotated it.

I used paper from SEI and Kraft cardstock from Papertrey Ink (as well as the ribbon and pink buttons). The tag was cut from Once Upon A Princess and the flower is from Forever Young.

I might make more "legal size" cards in the future!

Be sure to visit Crafting With Cristina to see the other design teams projects and to find out info on how to play along.

Almost Cricutless Layout and Cascarones

Hey Everyone!
I hope you all had a great Easter. Since I wasnt around my Spanish heritage growing up this Easter for me was definitely a learning experience and the start of a new tradition. My SIL brought cascarones (confetti eggs) and well... I'll let the picture explain:

It has rained for a week here (we've had landslides, flooding you name it!) so this couldnt have been done outside. However, I didnt mind the mess. That is what vacuums are for and hey, my floor looked pretty lol.

Anyway, enough of random things. I have a layout to share with you that I made almost Cricutless! Many of you know that I have been using my stash and that's what this layout has been. Once I was done with embellishments from my stash I couldnt think of anything else it needed. It just looked complete to me! The title is the only thing that I cut from my Cricut and I used Billionaire Lite. I love that font!

If it looks a little crooked it's because it is. ;). I don't even know where all of the embellishments are from so I apologize. I got a lot of them in swaps! The ribbon and buttons are from Papertrey Ink. The twine is from Scrappy Mom's Stamps. I used craft paper from Recollections brand and the patterned mat is from Echo Park Life Is Good.

I journaled around the square mat so really.. what else could I have added. :)

Inspired By Cristina Blog Hop

Good Morning Everyone!

---For the Mother's Day Blog Hop please click here----

Welcome to the Inspired By Cristina Blog Hop and the start of her anniversary week! Cristina has been sick all week (which is why the EAD Design stickers giveaway was postponed) so Im hoping this blog hop will make her feel slightly better.

You should have arrived from Cristina's blog but if not make sure to visit her to start from the beginning (im the second stop). The list is at the end of this post for your reference. I have been inspired a lot by Cristina's projects so this was easy and fun for me to create. I am trying my best to get caught up on my daughter's first year album so a layout was a must!

Here is the layout I was inspired by:

Here is my version:

The photos are fine in real life. I couldnt get away from a glare! :)

I fortunately had the same cartridges she used so I tried to stick with the same cuts. I changed it up a bit by only making it a single page layout. If you have been a follower of my blog then you know how much I hate don't enjoy two page layouts. However, two page layouts are going to pop up more just so I can include more photos and get finished with my daughter's book quicker!

I love the way this turned out and how great the colors match her play mat she was sleeping on. This nap didnt last BTW but it was still cute for scrapping ;P.
I am so happy for Cristina in reaching this milestone and accomplishing all she has in a year. She is such a great friend and I wish her many more successful years with her blog!

Mother's Day Blog Hop

Hey Everyone!
----Click here for the Inspired By Cristina Blog Hop!---

Welcome to the Mothers Day Blog Hop hosted by Giselle and Nadia. If you are stuck on what to make your mother or a mother in your life then this is the perfect blog hop to gain inspiration from!

You should have arrived from Giselle's blog which is also the beginning of the hop! If you are just checking in on me make sure to visit her to see her project! I will have the blog hop list at the end of this post for your reference.

Nadia and Giselle decided to really challenge us and asked us to create a card that didnt include FLOWERS! For any other occasion sure, but for Mother's Day, that was tough. I was looking through my cartridges and trying to get ideas when I remembered some images from Kate's ABC's. Some on there arent only directed towards little girls only as you'll see in my card:

I like making scene cards so I went with this cut and added to it. I don't have any Mothers Dayish sentiments so I used one from Scrappy Mom's. The clouds are actually tags from Once Upon A Princess and the sun is from Simply Charmed. I added pearls to the hat and purse and stickled the cuts up! Simple but really cute!

Fawn-Tastic!

Hey Everyone!

I am so bummed. Earlier this week I went to update my Iphone and not only did it delete all of my contacts, but it also deleted my daughter's 11 month photos that I had taken. I cried. Every month since she's been born (and pregnancy) I have taken photos with my Iphone and uploaded them all at once the start of a new one. I've done this for 10 months without issue. Now, I can't get her 11 month photos back. Although I have "some" in my personal camera and Facebook it still hurts! So sad.

Ok, enough with that. I have a card to share! This week at Flaunt It Friday's we are flaunting the Cindy Lou cartridge and the cut is anything you choose. I don't have this cartridge but as I was looking at the images from cricut.com I noticed I have a few cartridges that resemble them. I decided to use Give A Hoot since it's one of my forgottens.

Make sure you visit Flaunt It Fridays to visit the rest of the design teams projects. Also if you'd like to play along you can link your project up over there.

Supplies:
Base: 5x5 Kraft Cardstock (Papertrey Ink)
Pink Mat: Tim Holtz
Blue Mat: K & Co Mat Stack
Shaped Mat: Stash
Cartridges: Storybook (Shape Mat) Give A Hoot, Once Upon A Princess (Sentiment Tag)
Ribbon: Michaels

What I've Been Up To

Hey Everyone!

Other than the weekly design team posts I have been MIA from this blog and my blog feed. There are many reason why and one of them would be my crafting time. My fiance now works out of town so the weekends have been spent with him and my family. I try not to craft when he is here because he comes home on Friday and leaves on Sunday. A very short time for us! On top of that I have started doing Zumba three times a week so that cuts into my time as well :).

Also, I have been working on my daughter's baby book to get caught up. Her birthday is right around the corner so Ive been designing layouts at night and putting them together in the morning. Some are more simpler than others and I even made one that is CRICUTLESS! I'll share that with you soon.

I wasnt going to share what I had made but I figured it'd give you something to look at besides my design team posts!

I went through my daughters pictures on Shutterfly by month and wrote down the pictures I wanted to scrap, how many of them, and titles. Im not as far away from being done as I thought! I am working on her 3 month pictures currently and out of the 6 I have one more to do!

When I was making this layout I was really wishing I had the Imagine. I have only recently wanted the Imagine. I don't want it at it's current price so it needs to drop another $100 before Im comfortable at buying it. Also, my craft space is super small because it is in the corner of my bedroom. These colors just for some reason remind me of Imagine projects!

This was when I put my daughter in her excer-saucer for the very first time! I ended up having to put a blanket behind her back because she was so little. I will have another layout that is of her in her buggy and it will show just how little she really was in it!

Well, that's all I have for you today. Tomorrow is another Flaunt It Friday's and this weekend I am in two blog hops!

Mothers Day Blog Hop and
Inspired by Cristina Blog Hop.

P.S. If I owe you a giveaway I will have it out to you ASAP.

Thanks for visiting!

Birthday Invitation

Hey Everyone!

First, I'd like to say that Cristina is feeling under the weather so her blogoversary will be postponed to next week. I am not going to remove my post because I already have comments for the givewaway. The winners will just be chosen after her blogoversary week is finished! :)

My daughter's birthday is a little over than two weeks away! I can't believe it. The majority of her decor is finished I just need to put the final touches on some things. When I first designed her invitation I was a little worried that it was too much for how many I had to make (19!). Then I had to create one at the last minute and it's actually pretty easy! Hooray for easy. :)

I love this and the colors. I printed the party details on vellum and underneath on the yellow part reads:

The fun has only just begun
look out world im turning one!

All of the paper is from Papertrey Ink. I used Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest and Harveset Gold. The fringe is what will be through out my daughters party. I used the fringe scissors by Martha Stewart. The colored raffia can be found at this Etsy shop.

It was tough creating a Cinco De Mayo theme for a baby and not have it look cheesy or stereotypical of our heritage but it's been fun. I have already had a cousin tell me an invitation just wasnt needed with Facebook available. I told him to shut up that it is always nice to have an invitation on the fridge or memo spot to keep that reminder. He just doesnt understand craftiness lol.

Crafting With Cristina Blogoversary Week!

Hey Everyone!

This week we are celebrating Cristina's one year blogoversary! She will have a giveaway each day and on Saturday we will be hopping to celebrate. Today, she asked the design team to create a project using EAD Design stickers. The best part about this is I get to give away the set I used! WOOHOO!!! The set can be found here. This set couldnt be more perfect for me. Ever since I received my Pottery Barn Kids magazine and saw these owl themed rooms I have been on a huge kick! If I could redo my daughters room the way I'd want it (we live in an apartment, boo!) I'd totally buy everything owl from PBK. LOL.

These EAD Design stickers ROCK! I wasnt sure what I was going to make but when I started looking at the sentiments I thought how perfect it'd be to have 3x3 cards on hand. I always need a thank you card or a quick hello card and this was a great way to get some created.

Pretty simple but cute! I used Kraft cardstock from Papertrey Ink, The mat's are from a K & Company mat stack and the twine is from Scrappy Moms. The buttons are Stampin Up!

So how can you win this awesome set? Just leave me a comment and I will use random.org to choose the winner! WOOHOO

Dont forget to check out Cristina's blog and all of the other design team's projects. Such a talented team.

Flaunt It Fridays: Simply Charmed

Hey Everyone!

It's time for Flaunt It Fridays and this week we are flaunting the fish with the pole (shift button) from Simply Charmed. You can find this cut on page 41 of your handbook.

All I have been crafting lately are scrapbook layouts so that is why I have been kind of MIA. I only have 40 or so to go before I am  caught up. So I am trying to get as many done before I start her birthday ones. Luckily this cut helped me knock one off the list.

This was Father's Day 2010

She looks just like her daddy huh? LOL.

Make sure you visit Flaunt It Fridays to enter your project and to see all of the other design team's projects. So much inspiration this week!

What are you doing this weekend?

Thanks for visiting!

Supplies:
Base: Craft Cardstock from Recollections
Blue Mat: Colorbok

Stop and Smell the Jelly Beans

Hey Everyone!

Man does those Jelly Beans smell good! This is one of the hard times of the year for me. All of the sweet goodness that is in the stores right now are so tempting. I must confess, I have already been through two bags of Reese Cup Easter Eggs and a handful of Jelly Beans. I can't help myself, Reese Cups are my favorite and the Eggs are just so much better.

I have Cristina to blame for my Jelly Beans purchase! This week, the new Companion Challenge at Crafting With Cristina, is to make an Easter project using something you'd normally throw away.

I love me some Starbucks (who doesnt?) and my go to drink when it's warm outside is the Mocha Fraps you can buy in grocery stores or gas stations. I bought a four pack from my grocer and I am happy to say that they all will be used! Three will hold paper straws in the colors of my daughter's birthday and the fourth is pictured below.

Im not sure exactly where the patterened paper is from but my guess is K & Co a stack for babies. This was one of the first stacks I bought so it's been awhile! I loved the pastel look which is perfect for Easter. The tulle is leftover from my daughter's high chair tutu (I promise, only a couple more weeks of birthday mentions lol). The sentiment is from Scrappy Mom's Stamps (Spring Fling) and the bunny is from Create A Critter.

This project was super easy and simpe I almost felt like I was cheating lol. The hardest part about it was the cap because I still havent found a replacement circle cutter!

That's all I have for you today! Please visit Cristina's blog for the other design team's projects and to enter your very own! It's so simple and we are doing our part in keeping unneccessary trash out of the dump. All entries will be eligible to win:

Also, Cristina will be celebrating her blogoversary all next week. Make sure to visit for inspiration and goodies! We will end the week with a fabulous blog hop.

Love Ewe

Hey Everyone!

It's time for another Flaunt It Friday challenge and this week we are flaunting the sheep from Country Life. You can find this cut on page 42 of the handbook.

For my project, I decided to make a super simple card that would be easy to mass produce! Instead of the swirls that come on the sheep, I used my Gypsy to hide them and added hearts from Plantin Schoolbook instead.

The twine and the sentiment are both from Scrappy Mom's Stamps. I used paper from my stash (Patterened paper from K & CO Valentines stack!) and craft cardstock by Recollections. Which by the way are 2 for $5 (8 1/2 x 11 packs) at Michaels!

Don't forget to visit the Flaunt it Friday's blog for the other design team's projects and to link up your project. I hope you choose to play a long with us :).

Blog Hop Winner

Hey Everyone!

The sun is shining and the rain has gone (for now) and I have been crafting away in my little corner. I am slowly but surely getting my mojo back. I didnt realize how many unfinished projects I have until I cleaned my space yesterday. ;). I need to hop on that so I have things to share!

I also drew the winner from the April Fools Day Blog Hop. I enjoyed that hop so much because of all of the creativity! I had a lot of people ask about how I got the goodies inside of the can and I WAS going to do a video for you. Then, I remembered Im not a video blogger and it would probably take me all week to approve a video that met my standards. I like things a certain way! LOL.

So instead, I will share the link where I got the tutorial from. It's from Splitcoast Stampers and if you havent visited that site yet, I highly recommend it!

Altered Pop Top Can

I used Random.org to pick the winner and out of 57 comments it chose:

MELISSA!

Melissa said: "Very cute project!!! What a great joke and tasteful too!! I am with quilt4fun2 how did you get the candy in there? Thanks for the chance to win!"

Congratulations Melissa, I have already sent you an email.

Check back tomorrow as we have another challenge at Crafting With Cristina! Two weeks in a row, WOOHOO!

Thanks for visiting :)

April Fools Day Blog Hop!

----If you are looking for my Flaunt It Friday's post click here---
Hey Everyone!

Welcome to the April Fools Day Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Cristina's blog which is also the beginning. If you just happened by my blog make sure you visit her so you don't miss any goodies or inspiration. I will have the line-up listed at the end of this post if you get lost along the way.

Cristina asked us to create a project around the April Fool's Day theme. This was a super challenging theme for me but I finally figured out what to do and I think it came out great.

For my project, I altered a pop top can that I filled with Reese Cup Eggs (THE BEST REESE CUP VERSION OUT THERE BTW!) and I plan on giving them to my brothers for Easter. They are 12 and 9 so this is the perfect "prank."

I left the top blank because I havent found a good circle cutter. I have one that is made by Martha Stewart, I believe her older one. It's a circle shape not the longer shape but it doesnt work to my liking (to be nice). Do you have one that you'd recommend?

Supplies:
Pop Tab Can (chef boyardee has these type of cans and so does campbells soup)
Paper is from my stash
The Dino and tree is from Create A Critter but I received these in a swap so the extra detail is from someone else :)
World's Best Kid Sentiment: Kids Inc. By Scrappy Moms Stamps

I hope you liked my project! Your next stop is Ivette.

However before you go here is my blog candy:

A $20 gift card to Michaels!

Just leave me a comment telling me the best prank you've ever witnessed/experienced/performed/found. :) Simple! I will announce the winner on Monday.
Don't forget to visit ALL of the blogs in the hop for inspiration and blog candy.

Flaunt It Fridays: 3 Birds On Parade

---If you are looking for the April Fools Day Blog Hop click here!---

Hey Everyone!

It's another challenge week over at Flaunt It Fridays and this week we are flaunting the bird in the disguise get up from 3 Birds On Parade. You can find this cut on page 36 of your handbook.

If you are like me and don't own this cartridge you can still play along. Just re-create the bird with whatever cuts you think may work. Also, if you decide to play along make sure to link your project here. This month the stamp set, Lot's Of Pun from Joy's Life is the grand prize!
For my project, I re-created my bird by using three different cartridges. I wasnt sure what I wanted to do because none of the bird's I had were facing forward. So I looked through my stamp set to see if I could get any ideas from that and I did! Around Christmas time I created this card that had the bird decorating the tree. I thought it'd be great to use this idea for a "sorry" card. My bird is actually a baby bird and he got into the disguise cabinent, broke the glasses, and decided to chew on the mustache. LOL. Perfect. I love how inspiration can also come from your own work!

I think this is so cute! I wanted it to be colorful so I used the Little Girl line from Echo Park. Don't forget to stop by the Flaunt it Friday's blog for all of the other inspiration!

Thanks for visiting :)

Supplies:
Base: Kraft Cardstock from Papertrey Ink (5x7 card)
Mats: Echo Park Little Girl Line
Twine and Sentiment: Scrappy Mom's Stamps
Bird: Winter Frolic (I cut off the Christmas hat)
Sunglasses: Paisley
Mustache: Billionaire Lite
Black MS pen
